VII.1.2.3 Manipulation of Groups

The file “COMEX/EX02/testGroups.py” contains python examples of Groups manipulation with the COM component. Four functions performing different tests are defined:

• “testGroupFunction1” reads a Nastran BDF and a Patran session file into a NastranDb dataBase. Then a loop on the Groups is done and the number of each type of entity present in each Group is printed.
• “testGroupFunction2” reads a Nastran BDF and a Patran session file into a NastranDb dataBase. Then the different operators are tested.
• “testGroupFunction3” reads a list of Groups from a Patran session file without inserting them into a DataBase. Then, a loop is done on the Array containing the Groups and the Group names and objects are printed.
• “testGroupFunction4” reads a Nastran BDF and a Patran session file into a NastranDb dataBase. Then, Groups are build by association to materials.
