The Classical Lamination Theory is based on the assumption that $σ_{33} = 0$ . Consequently, $ϵ_{33}$ and $ϵ_{33}^{Mech}$ are generally not zero. These strain tensor components can be estimated from (12):

ϵ_{33}^{Mech} = c_{3311} σ_{11} + c_{3322} σ_{22} + c_{3333} σ_{33} + c_{3323} σ_{23} + c_{3331} σ_{31} + c_{3312} σ_{12},
