X.F.3 Distribution on a group of connections

The equations developed in section X.F.2 allow definition of the different steps involved in bolt group redistribution of connection loads. These steps are summarized below:

Bolt group center of gravity is calculated using (X.F.1).

This allows calculation of connection locations in a new coordinate system with origin on this center of gravity using expression (X.F.2)

The bolt group global stiffnesses $k_T^{BG}$ and $J^{BG}$ are calculated with expressions (X.F.11) and (X.F.12) respectively.

The $6\times 6$ compliance matrix in (X.F.13) can then be calculated. Note that the calculations so far do not depend on connection loads. This means that they can be performed only once before the actual post-processing of FEM results.

For a given load case, connection loads $f_{FEM}^i$ and $m_{FEM}^i$ can be extracted from the solver result file.

Bolt group global forces and moments are then calculated with (X.F.3) and (X.F.4).

7.

Expression (X.F.13) is used to calculate the bolt group global translational and rotational deformation.

8.

Connection forces and moments are then calculated with expressions (X.F.7) and (X.F.8).
