“deriveVectorToTwoScals” method returns an Array of two Result objects derived from the vectorial Result object on which the method is applied. The returned Results are scalar. Possible values of the “Method” String argument are:
“AxialXandShear”: the first returned Result contains the “X” component of the vector; the second contains the norm of the remaining “Y” and “Z” components.
“AxialYandShear”: the first returned Result contains the “Y” component of the vector; the second contains the norm of the remaining “X” and “Z” components.
“AxialZandShear”: the first returned Result contains the “Z” component of the vector; the second contains the norm of the remaining “X” and “Y” components.
In each case, the first scalar Result corresponds to the axial component along the selected axis, and the second scalar Result corresponds to the transverse shear magnitude (i.e. the Euclidean norm of the two remaining components). This method is intended for separating axial and shear contributions in connection or beam load Results.
This method works for Real Results only.
