The new version of the library is issued 2025/08/09. Modifications of the library:
Correction of a bug in the reading of Results from Nastran XDB file with method “readXdb2H” of the NastranDb class. (There was a big memory leak in previous versions.)
The concept of “FieldCS” Results is removed. Instead, one introduces the “tensorOrder=-2” that corresponds to non-symmetric tensorial Results. These Results can be used to generate orthogonal tensors and perform rotations of vectorial or tensorial Results. The methods associated to this new capabilty are the singleton methods “assembleTensorFrom3Vectors”, “directRotation” and “inverseRotation”. An example illustrates the use of these functions (section IV.2.14.)
The reading of “Grid Point Forces” Results from Nastran OP2 and HDF5 files is now possible. (See also Table III.1.10.)
A few improvements in the methods used to read Nastran BDF files.
Addition of iterator “each_bdfCard2” for the access to data defined in Nastran BDF files.
Correction of a few bugs.
Several corrections have been done in the manual and a few examples illustrating new capabilities are presented. For example:
Improvement of “PostBuckling” class in ruby post-processing project.
Addition of an example for new “each_bdfCard2” iterator.
The new version of the library is issued 2025/11/15. Modifications of the library:
Addition of support for te reading of Nastran Grid Point Forces Results on DMIG matrices.
Improvements in the reading of cards from Nastran BDF files. In particular, the free format is better supported. One also adds a seventh “params” argument to pass additional parameters to the method. (See the description of “readBdf” for more information.)
The new seventh “params” argument of “readBdf” method is also added to the arguments of “NastranDb.each_bdfCard” and “NastranDb.each_bdfCard2” iterators.
Correction of a bug in the filtering on Result names when reading Nastran OP2 file.
Correction of a bug in ruby conversion of complex values returned by some of the methods.
Correction of a bug in new iterator “NastranDb.each_bdfCard2”.
Correction of the identification of subcase names in the reading of Nastran HDF5 Results. (This is to fix a problem related to format of Results in HDF5 with new version MSC Nastran 2025.1.)
Correction of several minor errors in the reading of Nastran BDF files.
Modification of the reading of Nastran PBUSH property card.
Several corrections have been done in the manual and a few examples illustrating new capabilities are presented. For example:
Improvement of the ruby “PostProject” example.
Addition of ruby example “EX01/scanBdfCards2.rb” that illustrates the use of new iterator “NastranDb.each_bdfCard2”. The example shows how the new 7th argument of the method is used to tune FeResPost behaviour when reading cards in free format.
The new version of the library is issued 2026/02/22. Modifications of the library:
Correction of the writing of BDF cards in large format. (Correction ensures that an even number of lines are written.)
Correction of the reading of Nastran superelements from OP2 files.
Correction of the reading of Nastran Results from OP2 and HDF files: when Modules are present in the model, corresponding Results are skipped to prevent mixing with Results associated to other FEM parts. (See section III.1.1.4.1.)
Correction of an error in the generation of SOL 111 subcase names when results are read on superelements from HDF5 file.
Addition of three methods to NastranDb class that allow the reading of superelement coordinate systems and nodes from OP2, XDB or HDF Result files. (See section III.1.1.4.2.)
The new version of the library is issued 2026/05/16. Modifications of the library:
Correction of a bug in the reading of Nastran “Grid Point Forces, MPC Internal Forces” (and Moments). Previously, tensor order was not set correctly.
Correction of a bug in the writing of Nastran BDF cards. Previously, wrong value was written when real field was 0.0.
Methods “directRotation” and “inverseRotation” of The “Result” class are modified and can now have a vectorial definition of the rotation.
